The Ridgway Fire Department held its annual Awards banquet this past Saturday at the Central Fire Hall on North Broad St.  RFD President Mike Plaster and Chief John Wygant opened the dinner, and presented the awards.
 
 

Receiving their 5 year Service Pin

10 year Pins were given to Dan Miller and Francis McKay

Thomas (Tug) Eckert speaks to the crowd about his many years of
service to the Department and also being our Santa Claus and being
Delivered by the Laurel Hook and Ladder Co. over the past 20+ years
and sitting at the gazebo. 

Mr. Mel Bliss from the Butler County Community College was on hand to speak to the crowd and explain how training is our Most important thing we do, especially since 911.
 
Mr. Bliss is a Public Safety Training Facility Coordinator, Hazardous Materials Specialists, Certification Test Site Coordinator.

 He has been in the Fire Service since 1971
 Also, a Pa. Fire Suppression Instructor
 U.S. Department of Labor OSHA Trainer
 Certified Fire Instructor and Private Investigator

 He is a member of:
 Keystone Chapter of Fire Service Instructors
 Pa. Assoc. of Hazard Materials Technician
 National Fire Protection Assoc.
 Warren Co. Fire School
